BRUSSELS CLEANUP MARCH 17 - GLOBAL RECYCLING DAY

Join us for a cleanup of our beloved city Brussels on March 17th

Waste Free Oceans Joins Forces with the SURPASS Project, a European-funded project on recyclable plastics and Cohabs Brussels, involved in sustainable living for Brussels Cleanup on Global Recycling Day, next March 17th 2024!

We are excited to announce a citywide cleanup event in Brussels on March 17th, celebrating Global Recycling Day. This initiative is primarily focused on raising awareness among European citizens about the urgent issue of plastic waste and promoting sustainable practices.

Event Details:

  • Date: Sunday, March 17th
  • Time: 2:00 PM
  • Meeting Point: Quai de l'industrie 170, 1070 Anderlecht (Erasmus school's car parking)
  • Clean-up equipment provided by WFO
  • Drinks and snacks at the end of the cleanup

 

The event will begin with a walk through the city, starting at the Erasmus school's car parking. Participants can reach the meeting point using the following transportation options:

  • 2/6 metro - Delacroix stop - 8 minutes walking
  • 1/5 metro - Gare de l'ouest stop - 15 minutes walking
  • 81 tram - Albert I stop - 10 minutes walking

Waste pickers, gloves, and waste bags will be provided for the cleanup. The route will lead from the Abbatoir market to the Palazzo (Rue Théodore Verhaegen 190), where a presentation about the European project will be held, accompanied by refreshments. This gathering is not just a token of appreciation; it's an opportunity for participants to connect, share ideas, and network.
